As we moved out of Lockdown in August 2021 Shola had plans to get her community dancing and moving again. At the same time her new EP Mama’s Dreams was being released, so a wonderful opportunity to combine the 2 milestones together.

Let’s Dance Summer 2021. An evening of entertainment and dance!

It was an absolutely fabulous evening of dinner, dance, live music & entertainment organised by Shola Alli. Wonderful to see so many people dress up, get stuck in and A* for effort to the most of us too… 😂 A real great community atmosphere.

A special thank you to our sponsors @elmbridgebc and @rc_sherriff_trust

Thank you to all those who worked hard and helped to make this a special moment to remember and thank you to everyone that was able to come. Thank you!!! It was great to have the wonderful singer @josephineshawofficial perform on the night too.

Follow on Instagram to see more updates of the event including the most fun filled dance competition of the evening and updates of our next event (scaled down but still as fun) …psst; did somebody say #africandance please?? More of the same too …

A note from Shola: “When you’re surrounded by great talent it’s so easy to just enjoy the moment being yourself” says Shola. Thanks for coming to the Let’s Dance Summer event that enabled the Dancers & Singer perform to you. Means a lot especially during these times… thank you!”

Shola and her band performed at this 3-day event organised by Niksol Events in the Heart of Kingston town Sponsored by Kingston First. Some of the highlights included:

Great teamwork from the band; couldn’t have done it without them. Setting up abs setting down each day was tedious but there was loads of time to perform to a captive mixed audience including loads of young people. The band added real depth to the event and their hard work paid off; truly made Shola’s songs come alive this Bank holiday Summer long weekend.

Shola says “Overly grateful for doing something different every time I get to perform – if it’s not cruising along the river, it’s being on land outdoors. My music brings me so much joy when shared with others. A big Thank you to Kingston First for considering me and my band to perform; truly grateful. A big thank you to Niksol Events for putting the planning together.”
